RentCar.mu connects travellers with local rental agencies across Mauritius, with a transparent process from start to finish.
For travellers
1 · Find your vehicle
Choose your pick-up point (airport, hotel, agency), your dates and compare local agencies' offers: daily rate, gearbox, ratings from previous customers.
2 · Book online, pay on site
Your booking is confirmed immediately, with no online payment. You pay the agency at vehicle pick-up (card or cash); the deposit is returned after drop-off if everything is in order.
3 · Digital inspection at pick-up
At key handover, the agent walks around the vehicle with you: timestamped photos, mileage, fuel level, signatures on tablet. You receive the PDF report.
4 · Drive, then return
At drop-off, same process: the before/after comparison makes the vehicle's condition objective. No bad surprise on the deposit.

How does the deposit work?
The deposit amount is displayed before booking. It is left with the agency at pick-up (usually a card hold, not charged) and returned at drop-off. If damage is found at the return inspection (with photos as evidence), only the repair is billed, capped at the deposit. The before/after comparison protects both sides.
