Every agency listed on RentCar.mu operates under a PSV (Contract Car) licence issued by the NLTA: yellow plates, insured and inspected vehicles. This public directory helps travellers book from legitimate operators only.
In Mauritius, a legal rental vehicle carries two yellow number plates. Informal rentals (white front plate) carry no rental insurance: in an accident, the customer can be liable for everything. Before booking anywhere, check the operator is licensed.
